An image found on Steam may have inadvertently revealed the first expansion for Forza Horizon 5.

As spotted by Wario64, the Steam page for the game was updated with a new banner for a brief period. Though it was subsequently removed, the image briefly seemed to reveal that the excellent racer from last year will be getting a new Hot Wheels expansion. Whoops!

Of course, there’s no information as to what the expansion will entail just yet. However, it won’t be the first time the series has dallied with the popular toy cars. Back in 2016’s Forza Horizon 3, the second expansion was also Hot Wheels themed, and included 10 new cars and an entire new location. This location, naturally, included a bunch of islands connected by Hot Wheels stunt track pieces. It was, by all accounts, a pretty big success, so it’s easy to see them collaborate once more.

There’s been no confirmation from Xbox or the Playground Games team on the existence of the Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels expansion just yet. It’s probably a safe bet to assume, if true, it’ll be revealed during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase this Sunday. Forza Horizon 5 itself was first revealed during last year’s show in similar fashion, in fact.

We’ll let you know if this turns out to be true. Forza Horizon 5 was already a solid entry in the racing series, and we’re certainly looking forward to more.
