If you are a top-notch Fortnite player, you can get special rewards in the new season. With the release of Chapter 5 Season 3, Epic Games added so-called Wastelander challenges to the game. These challenges will test your skills, and if you pass them, you will get special rewards. However, the only way to pass these challenges is by getting a Victory Royale under special conditions.
Last season, Epic added secret Fortnite achievements. This feature was further expanded in Season 3, and now you can activate new challenges and track their progress. When you finish an extra challenge for the first time, you will receive the Wastelander’s Mark wrap, an exclusive cosmetic item.
These Fortnite challenges will push your skills to the limit
To activate extreme challenges in Fortnite, you will have to interact with one of the four Wasteland Beacons on the island. At the moment, there are four beacons on the Chapter 5 Season 3 map, and you need to interact with them before the second circle closes in. These are their locations:
- Rebel’s Roost
- Southeast of Brutal Beachhead
- South of Reckless Railways
- Southeast of Classy Courts
Once you accept a Wastelander challenge, it will stay active throughout the match. Due to this, make sure you grab a couple of decent weapons and healing items before interacting with a beacon. Challenges are random, and our list below shows all of them.
These are all the Wastelander Challenges in Fortnite:
- The Ground Is Lava: Take damage when touching ground.
- Burnin’ Hot Items: Take damage when picking up items
- Jammed Clips: Reloading is disabled
- Perma-Damage: Health and shield items are not usable
- Full Throttle: Take damage while standing still
- Unshielded: Cannot gain shields
It’s important to note that you will have to win a match after activating an extreme challenge to get the wrap. On top of it, you’ll also receive bonus XP, which will help you progress through the Battle Pass much faster.
