Epic Games just released another Fortnite balance update. This is a smaller update that requires no download and was automatically applied. With it, the game developer made a couple of minor changes to make several aspects of the game less effective. Furthermore, Epic added a new item to the Black Market and Shops across the island.

In this article, we will take a look at all the changes and nerfs that arrived with the latest content update.

Epic released several nerfs with the new Fortnite update

Explosive weapons have been a big part of Fortnite since its release in September 2017. Players can use several explosives in the current season, such as Thermite and Sticky Grenade Launcher. Interestingly, it seems that the launcher has overperformed its expectations, which is why Epic initially nerfed the Rocket Ammo cap to 6, down from 12. However, this change was quickly reverted as it affected other game modes.

The other changes remained in place, and they are as follows:

  • Vehicles now spawn less frequently on the island
    • Max spawn of SUVs was reduced from 36 to 25
    • Max spawn of Whiplash was reduced from 41 to 30
  • Spawn rate of the Rocket ammo was reduced
  • Shockwave Grenades were added to the Black Market and Shops

These are rather minor changes that won’t shake up the meta. However, the next Fortnite update is scheduled for March 11 and will be the first major update of Chapter 6 – Season 2. We expect Epic Games to add tons of new content with it, including a few more balance changes. The update will bring at least one new weapon, Pump & Dump, which could be a game-changer.
