With a new Fortnite season around the corner, the community is hyped for new content once again. The next season, which is scheduled for May 24, will bring a new Battle Pass, map changes, skins, and much more. On top of this, Epic Games will release a new event to introduce us to it. The release date of the event is currently unknown, but it’ll likely happen in the final week of the current season.
Shortly after the v29.40 update came out, Fortnite leakers shared a few details about the upcoming event. It’s important to note that this won’t be a live event. Instead, the event will occur over a longer period, and you will be able to watch it while playing a match. The latest leak showed a few more details about the event, and here’s what we know about it so far.
The next Fortnite event should start any day now
The next Fortnite event should begin very soon. It will be similar to the Pandora’s Box event, which introduced us to Season 2. This means that it will be active for at least a couple of days, ending on May 24. The latest Fortnite leak shows that the statue at Mount Olympus will play a role in it. More specifically, it will raise the sword in the air, which will then be surrounded by lightning.
Shiina, one of the most reputable leakers, also claims that the statue will have glowing eyes and there will be a sandstorm around it, while NotPalo shared the animation of the statue.
From the earlier leaks, we know that the event will also have Zeus’ hourglass. However, we don’t know the exact purpose of it. It appears that the Olympic god will try to destroy mankind, and it will be up to loopers to stop him and save the universe once again.
The final update of Chapter 5 Season 2 will come out on Tuesday, May 14. This will be a smaller update that will fix a few issues with the game, including the Yoda back bling. While no Fortnite leak has specified the release date of the next event, we expect it to begin around May 18 and be active over the last week of the season.
