Epic Games has brought back many rare Fortnite cosmetics lately. Some of them have been vaulted for more than three years, and newer players finally got a chance to obtain them. This trend will likely continue, as the game developer re-released one of the rarest cosmetics on Monday night. This item had been vaulted for nearly five years.
Fortnite’s Item Shop is always unpredictable, and Epic rarely reveals release dates of cosmetics. However, we do know that more rare items will return this month, as the Fortnite creator announced the return of DC skins.
One of the rarest Fortnite items returned to the Item Shop
The last few days have been very exciting for Fortnite players who were looking to buy older cosmetics. Not only did Epic Games bring back some of the rarest emotes last week, but Beast Boy also returned over the weekend. This week has also started out strong, with the game creator bringing one of the rarest wraps back to the shop.
Carnaval Confetti is an animated wrap that was released on February 24, 2020. Interestingly, this was its only shop appearance before Monday night. The cosmetic item was vaulted for 1,758 days, making it one of the rarest Fortnite cosmetics of all time. In fact, it was the second-rarest wrap before its return. However, that is no longer the case.
As of December 17, 2024, the rarest wrap in Fortnite is World Cup 2019. This cosmetic item was released on July 26, 2019, and was available for only three days during Fortnite’s biggest tournament. We currently don’t know when this wrap will return, but considering that it’s been vaulted for almost five and a half years, Epic Games might be saving it for the next big competition.
