Getting free V-Bucks in Fortnite is possible but not sustainable. Every Battle Pass brings 300 V-Bucks you can get without paying anything, while you can get 1500 after purchasing the pass. On top of this, Epic Games sends V-Bucks refunds from time to time, which is something millions of players have benefited from.
Interestingly, one player recently received a massive amount of V-Bucks despite being inactive. The player claims that they haven’t played Fortnite in a couple of years, yet they have more than 21000 V-Bucks in their account.
This Fortnite player received more than 21000 V-Bucks out of nowhere
Reddit user eru_uibo recently made a post showing their V-Bucks balance. The player claims to have been inactive for “a couple of years,” yet despite this, they have 21,215 V-Bucks in their account. In addition to this, the player had less than 1000 V-Bucks before the break, which makes this situation even more interesting.
Although we don’t know exactly what happened, there are a few theories. The player either forgot to cancel the Fortnite Crew membership or received a massive refund a few years ago. Considering that Crew grants 1000 V-Bucks per month, this could be an easy explanation. However, the player would’ve likely noticed charges on their card, which is why this was probably a big refund.
A few years ago, Epic Games changed the price of V-Bucks in Fortnite, refunding the price difference in the in-game currency. Players who were active at the time received massive refunds according to the amount of V-Bucks they previously bought. The Reddit user most likely got a nice chunk of the premium currency but didn’t see it right away due to inactivity.
While some players get lucky with V-Bucks, others go into massive debt after trying to trick Epic Games into giving them free Fortnite cosmetics. Fortunately, it’s still possible to earn free V-Bucks, so anyone can enjoy the game while using fancy cosmetic items.
