Leveling up is one of the most important aspects of Fortnite if you own the Battle Pass. You can unlock over a hundred rewards, but to do so, you need to play and gain levels. Unfortunately, this mundane task has been quite challenging over the past few weeks, and players are not too happy about it. Due to this, some of them decided to even stop playing the game.

With the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 release date set for late May, some players don’t have enough time to complete the current Battle Pass. To unlock all the rewards, it is necessary to reach level 200, which can be quite tricky. However, all the basic rewards can be unlocked with level 100, including V-Bucks.

Fortnite players claim that the XP nerf ruined the game

With the release of other game modes in Chapter 5, like LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing, Epic Games slightly changed the leveling system. Weekly quests now only grant 10,000 XP, which is less than in the previous chapters. Epic also nerfed a few more XP sources, which is why Reddit user no_quart3r_given made a post about it, claiming that they will quit Fortnite if XP doesn’t get buffed.

“This will be my last bp because of this. It must feel nice to just play at leisure without the pressure of finishing a battlepass,” Cityfox17 responded. Effective-Interest28 pointed out that “not owning the Battle Pass makes it a lot easier to focus on fun over XP/Levels which you earn anyway just by playing.”

“The extra rewards feel impossible to reach and because of this stupid xp nerf I don’t think I’ll be buying the next battlepass,” jeewlien claims, pointing out how difficult it is to unlock Super Styles. Many other Fortnite players voiced the same opinion, hoping that Epic would do something about it.

On the other hand, this Fortnite XP nerf doesn’t affect casual players. “Do people actually play this game to have fun anymore, or is completing the battle pass the only reason they hop on,” champagne_anyone asked. A few more users chimed in, saying that they play for fun, not for cosmetics. Others believe that Super Styles are not a big deal, since most players won’t use them anyway.

While some players complain that Fortnite is ruined because of the nerf, others haven’t even noticed it. However, it will be interesting to see if Epic will do something about this. With the season ending in approximately three weeks, we might see some changes with the next one.
