Despite Fortnite giving players thousands of unique and mainstream skins to choose from, only a handful of these cosmetics can be labeled as exclusives. Outfits like the Renegade Raider and the Royale Bomber, though plain in appearance, are often coveted since these can no longer be officially earned. Unfortunately, the already-small vaunted list of rare cosmetics has seen its ranks reduced after Epic Games reintroduced a previously exclusive skin to the Item Shop: the Black Widow outfit.

For those unfamiliar, this particular superheroine-themed skin was last seen in Fortnite in May 2019 as part of Chapter 1 Season 8, hence its rarity and cult status in-game. However, before you rejoice, keep in mind that you will have to purchase it with your hard-earned in-game currency, so you’ll need to learn how many free V-Bucks you can get in Fortnite Season 5 to make it lighter on your wallet.

But even though the Black Widow outfit’s return to Fortnite is largely pleasant for some, most aren’t quite as pleased with its reintroduction, based on the slew of negative comments below Fortnite News’s announcement post. Many who have had it “since the beginning,” in particular, are complaining about its return since this skin will no longer be considered one of the rarest cosmetics in the game moving forward.

Of course, when considering Epic Games’s cosmetic guidelines, this development isn’t exactly a surprise because it was initially introduced as an Item Shop skin and not as a Battle Pass reward. And, since the developer only considers the latter items as exclusives (meaning they will no longer return), other outfits previously available in the Item Shop, like the Aerial Assault Trooper or the aforementioned Renegade Raider costumes, could eventually make a comeback.

With the Fortnite Black Widow outfit having only been recently reintroduced, however, you’ll have to remain patient indefinitely until rarer skins are brought back into the fray.
