As a free-to-play game, Fortnite relies on the sale of cosmetic items to sustain itself. Fortunately for Epic Games, this turned out to be a fantastic idea. Millions of players purchase cosmetics, and the game developer even gives them out for free from time to time. The new Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration has brought many free items to the game, and you can get some of them by simply watching game streams.

Our article will explain everything you need to know about new free rewards. Keep in mind that they are available for a limited time, so make sure to unlock them as soon as possible. Furthermore, it’s important to note that you do not need to play Fortnite to get these free cosmetics.

How to get free Fortnite x Star Wars cosmetic items

The latest Fortnite update brought another Star Wars collaboration. This is one of the biggest collaborations in the history of the game, as it brought a lot of new content for each game mode. Interestingly, Epic also released free items in each mode, allowing you to expand your locker. This includes the LEGO Fortnite Battle Pass, which has 11 free cosmetics.

Besides in-game cosmetics, you can also get free items by simply watching Fortnite streams. The procedure is quite simple, and you can get a new emoticon and loading screen by doing this. To get started, you need to visit a Fortnite stream on Twitch, but make sure that it has Drops enabled. After that, you need to link your Twitch and Epic Games accounts to unlock the Growling Chewbacca emoticon.

Once you link your accounts, you will receive the emoticon, but you need to do a few more steps to get the Galaxies Collide loading screen. As you are watching an eligible Fortnite stream, you will need to catch the items that appear on your screen. You will need to complete a collection by collecting 14 items, and once you do so, you will unlock the loading screen.

Epic Games clarified that both of these cosmetic items may be available for purchase in the Fortnite Item Shop at a later date. However, this is likely your only chance to get the items for free. You will be able to catch the items on Fortnite streams and unlock free rewards by May 14, 2024, at 3 PM Eastern Time.
