Fortnite Festival reveals our best look yet at The Weeknd skins coming in just days

No sooner have Fortnite players welcomed Eminem to the ever-popular Battle Royale shooter, but now another huge name music star has shared a first look at their own upcoming skins as The Weeknd prepares to arrive alongside the new Fortnite Festival.

On the artist’s social media pages including X (formerly Twitter), Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, posted images of his skins that will be available on the store once the Fortnite Festival mode launches on December 9. He’ll be the first in a new spin-off series of characters from the Icon series, aptly entitled – Music Icons.

It looks like we’ll be getting at least three versions of The Weeknd when his skin pack drops – a dapper version wearing a smart red suit, and two variants of him in a combat vest and bandana in both black and white versions – plus his signature XO chain. We’ll also be able to don a version of him wearing a metallic looking mask, based on the one he wore on his tour this summer paying tribute to late British-American rapper MF Doom.

Alongside the skins, we now also know there’ll be four tracks from the artist on the opening launch setlist for the Fortnite Festival game mode, including The Hills, Save Your Tears and perhaps his most famous hit, Blinding Lights. In case you’re not up to speed – Fortnite Festival will be a whole new game within Fortnite, letting players jam along to music in a manner not too dissimilar to Rock Band. That should come as no surprise, as behind the game is the studio Harmonix, who made Rock Band and who Epic acquired back in 2021. More Music Icons will be added to the game in the coming months following the launch of Fortnite Festival.
