There will always be ups and downs during the lifecycle of a live game. But recently a lot has been annoying the Fortnite community. This is coming to a head, with Fortnite fans putting Epic Games on blast after a slew of recent problems.

Despite some additions we love in Chapter 5 Season 2, with the Olympian boss gods taking over the island, it’s safe to say the latest season hasn’t launched smoothly. Many little issues are stacking up, which is turning some in the community against the game.

Fortnite is one of the biggest games in the world. That is unlikely to change anytime soon. However, the more these problems crop up, the more players will start looking elsewhere to spend their time.

The straw that broke the camel’s back

Sometimes, it doesn’t matter how much fun the actual gameplay is, if there are other issues affecting the game then it can really put you off. That is exactly what many in the Fortnite community are feeling at the moment, with a series of bugs coming in quick succession.

As summed up in a post by u/ChronicChoof on Reddit: “Does Epic really just not give a s*** this season? First they couldn’t even be bothered to count the Battle Stars correctly so we are unable to finish the pass. Now the Bonus Quest rewards are locked even with Week 0 – 3 quests being completed. Taking away players Battle Passes, resetting levels… What are they doing? Really seems like they don’t have any quality control whatsoever.”

It’s a fair enough complaint. Given what a huge game Fortnite is, there are bound to be some issues. But the current problems have seen Fortnite fans blast Epic Games with one of their favourite responses. “They fired like 900 people not too long ago, wouldn’t shock me if that’s got something to do with it”, commented u/Destiny404.

The issues seem to be exacerbated due to the sort of content that is being affected. As pointed out by u/sonicrules11, “I’d feel different if this was free content but this is stuff only available to people who purchase the BP.” Companies will definitely feel more wrath from the community when they are being let down by a paid-for experience.

As the proverb goes, “It is the last straw that breaks the camel’s back”. We’re not yet at the final straw, but if the problems keep piling up then we might get there sooner than expected!
