Throughout the storied history of Fortnite, several items, weapons, and pieces of equipment have come and gone, whether phased out by the meta or vaulted and left untouched by the developers outright. Luckily, in some cases, Epic Games resurrects some of these items from the dead, which is exactly what they’ve done with their decision to bring back a powerful fan-favorite weapon in the Heavy Sniper Rifle.

Though the community’s reaction towards Fortnite update 27.10 has primarily been negative, the following patch should receive a warmer welcome since it is set to bring back Season X and the aforementioned Heavy Sniper Rifle along with it. For those unfamiliar, this destructive piece of artillery was last featured in Chapter 4 Season 2. Epic Games then vaulted it as part of Chapter 4 Season 3 (also known as the WILDS update) and replaced it with the Explosive Repeater Rifle.

Of course, many within the community didn’t appreciate one of the most used weapons in the meta being vaulted, especially after it was replaced by a gun often touted by players as overpowered. Fortunately, Epic Games quickly heeded the fans’ complaints since they immediately vaulted the “broken” Explosive Repeater Rifle a few months later in Chapter 4 Season 4.

Now, despite the Heavy Sniper Rifle being the highlight of Fortnite’s upcoming patch, this isn’t the only item Epic Games is bringing back as part of it. A slew of familiar pieces of equipment, including the Junk Rift, the Air Strike, the Proximity Grenade Launcher, and the Storm Flip, are also making their long-awaited returns, which means there’s plenty to look forward to for both new and OG Fortnite fans.

It is worth noting, though, that the update will be released on November 23, so while you wait, take a look at our guides on how to get Split Screen in Fortnite, how to get bot lobbies quickly in Fortnite, and how to redeem codes in Fortnite to pass the time.
