The addition of theDarth Vader is one of the best things Epic Games has done in this Fortnite season. The iconic Star Wars character was introduced as an NPC who can interact with players and help lead them to a victory. While amazing, this move has sparked controversy, as the community found a way to manipulate the NPC.
Recently, a new video surfaced showing Darth Vader going haywire. You can watch the video below and try to trick the NPC into behaving differently yourself. While it’s certainly funny, Epic may not be laughing, as the company has found itself in another round of legal trouble.
Fortnite players have successfully manipulated Darth Vader
The first day of Darth Vader’s appearance in Fortnite was chaotic. Players made him say things he wasn’t supposed to say, which is why Epic released a quick patch to fix him. However, it’s still possible to manipulate the Sith Lord, as shown in a video by Reddit user Scizor_ziddy.
It seems the NPC tends to say much more when players ask for tips on achieving a Victory Royale. Sometimes, he overdoes it, just like he did in the video below.
This is certainly not how Epic Games intended Darth Vader to behave in the game. However, we have to admit it’s pretty cool that he can break character. After all, this is what makes the AI feature more amazing. The iconic character will stay in the game until June 7, giving players one more week to try him out. Once the new Fortnite season comes out, Epic will remove him.
The upcoming season-ending event in Fortnite will be all about the Death Star sabotage, and it will be interesting to see if Darth Vader will play any role in it. The event is scheduled to go live at 2 PM on Saturday, June 7, and the season will end right after it!
