Epic Games has dated the arrival of the eagerly anticipated Attack on Titan crossover that’s been promised for Season 4 Chapter 2 of its battle royale shooter, Fortnite.

The news was announced thanks to a short video posted to the official Fortnite Twitter account, showing two of the anime’s heroes swinging across the current Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 map using their series trademark ODM (Omni-directional mobility) gear and wielding their signature weapons. It appears as though they’ll be using a grapple mechanic similar to that introduced for Spider-Man a few seasons prior.

According to the text on the tweet, the Fortnite Attack on Titan crossover will kick off in the game on April 11, 2023.

While Epic is still to reveal the full extent of what the Fortnite Attack on Titan crossover will entail, we do know that it’ll include the drop of Eren Jagger as part of the ongoing Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 Battle Pass. As has been the case with previous guest characters, they’ve unlocked at the season’s mid-point for anyone who’s already bought the season’s Battle Pass, and will be coming alongside some Attack on Titan specific challenges to unlock further cosmetics.

Of course, the trailer on Twitter implies that there’ll be more characters from the anime joining Eren, most likely in the Fortnite store for a purchase of V-Bucks, but we’ll presumably get more information on that closer to the release of the event.

It’s of course far from the first anime crossover seen in Fortnite, with previous collaborations including Dragon Ball, Naruto and My Hero Academia to name but a few guest stars in the massively popular battle royale game.

The current Season is named Fortnite Mega Season 4 Chapter 2 and kicked off at the start of March. It added a brand new Neo-Tokyo theme, with plenty of new locations that could be traversed thanks to massive grind rails around the map.
