A new Final Fantasy 16 teaser has now surfaced and the short clip features a colossal battle between Clive’s Ifrit and a similar looking, albeit evil doppelganger. Now, Eikon vs. Eikon combat has long been a known in-game element ever since it was exhibited during one of FF16’s many gameplay trailers that have been released so far. However, the community has never seen two Eikon lookalikes facing off before so many were naturally excited upon seeing it.

With the release of the stunning Final Fantasy 16 demo only making fans all the more eager, this action-packed snippet has only increased the hype for the upcoming Square Enix series installment even more. A large number of people have even started taking to Reddit in order to discuss this latest revelation with other enthusiastic gamers.

According to a comment from a Redditor named saelinds, the Eikon names that were displayed during the scene in question may give us an idea as to why there are two Ifrits. Apparently, “Clive’s Ifrit is called Eikon of Fire, Ifrit, and the other one is called Ifrit of the Shadowed Flame,” indicating that a particular antagonist may have somehow been able to replicate the power and likeness of this mythical creature.

Aside from the towering fire Eikon, however, a number of other beasts were also shown during the teaser including Titan, Garuda, and Shiva, all of whom we’ll be facing throughout the story. It’s currently unclear whether Clive will be able to transform into these Eikons as well, although some of the other scenes in the same preview do seem to indicate that it’ll be possible at some point.

Of course, this is still merely speculation for the time being since the game hasn’t been released and the developers haven’t provided any confirmation yet. But with the Final Fantasy 16 release date only a handful of days away, we won’t need to wait too long until we can find out for ourselves.
