The game is said to rebirth life into the franchise, so here are the best settings for Final Fantasy 16.

Square Enix’s franchise is timeless, though the graphics and aesthetics of the series have changed dramatically from the original pixel art that began the game. Now, we’re looking at hyper-realism and an evolved style. Running on the PS5, the game looks absolutely fantastic. However, there’s a little wiggle room with different graphics modes and camera settings that will help you enjoy the game’s visuals even more. We’ve since had a look at what the best controller settings are, so make sure to check that out after.

Alongside that we’re going to choose the best camera settings, which is crucial when playing action games as movement and dynamics are ever important.

With the graphics settings for Final Fantasy 16, you’re going to be pretty limited in terms of what you can change for the appearance of Valisthea.

Final Fantasy 16 graphics modes – graphics vs frame-rate

There are two main graphics modes – graphics and frame-rate.

The names are fairly straight-forward, if you want to prioritise graphics, choose graphics, if you want to prioritise frame rate, choose frame-rate.

We could expect to see slightly different options when the game officially launches in the coming weeks, though for now the demo seems slightly limited. Realistically, console games are usually never well-endowed with swathes of graphics settings, so this is nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, it’s kind of easier when you only have two options, and eliminates a lot off the faff.

However – there are a few more settings that you might want to consider regarding the camera and sensitivity. Here they are:

  • Camera Sensitivity (Horizontal) – 2-4
  • Camera Sensitivity (Vertical) – 2-4
  • Invert Horizontal – Player’s choice
  • Invert Vertical – Player’s choice
  • Invert Horizontal (World Map) – Player’s choice
  • Invert Vertical (World Map) – Player’s choice
  • Target Follow – On

We would recommend finding a sensitivity that works for you. While we were more comfortable at a lower sensitivity, we also know that many gamers out there are slightly better off with higher sensitivity.

In terms of the inversion, that’s all entirely up to you and your gaming experience, though Target Follow is a pretty important feature that we would recommend enabling.

We’re going to be keeping an eye out for the latest updates on Final Fantasy 16’s performance and graphics settings, so make sure to check back in with us periodically for the latest updates.
