Fallout London has been one of the biggest and best highlights of 2024 so far. Although it is a mod, it’s so massive and of such high quality that it’s equivalent to an entirely new game. It’s a brilliant experience, and the good news is that the Fallout London devs plan to support the game “until at least of the end of the year” with plans to release patches and updates that include the addition of cut content.

The Bethesda Fallout games are absolutely huge, and the same is true of the newly-released London mod. There is a host of Factions available to join, and, for a mod, there is an extensive list of voice actors. It is fairly long and big, too, with 53 main quests, 33 side quests, and more adventures involving factions, gangs, and companions.

It’s a marvellous mod and it’s fantastic to hear that the hard work has been rewarded so much by the community. The devs are planning to become an indie studio capable of creating their own IPs, but they are not abandoning Fallout London as they have plans for the rest of 2024.

Speaking to the BBC in an interview uploaded on August 9th, Team Felon’s Dean Carter discussed what is next for Fallout London. During the interview, Carter discussed the success of the mod and how Team Felon plans to become a new independent studio.

“As much as I love the fact that this is a free project – we can offer this thing for free to all the community – free doesn’t pay our bills, ” said Carter. “What has been great for us is that a lot of people who have really enjoyed it have donated to us, and what we are doing with that is we are channelling that into Team Folon, which is obviously what we’re going to be moving into, and then we should hopefully launch our own indie games company.”

In regard to the excitement of becoming an indie studio, Carter said it will “allow us completely to be able to come up with our own ideas, create our own game, and just really work with the community without having to speak to anyone above us, such as Bethesda”.

There’s no mention of what the original game could be, but Carter elaborated, “It’ll be completely our own thing and we can create a game that we want to, that we think the community will enjoy. I think that London has been a great springboard for that, because we’ve worked with people now, we know what the community seems to like, and we’ve got a great platform where we can just talk to them”.

As for the future of Fallout London, Team Felon plan to keep working on the mod “until at least the end of the year”. Alongside patches to improve the performance and stability, the team is planning to continue support “until we basically have all the content which had to cut for the release”.

As for what cut content will be restored, in an interview with VG24/7 on August 7th, Carter revealed that Team Felon cut, and are planning to restore, a “Yes Man-style Wild Card main quest arc“. There’s no ETA for when this will be restored other than a future update.
