Gust and Koei Tecmo’s Fairy Tail will touch down worldwide on PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC on March 19, 2020.

With Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima deeply involved in the game’s development, Fairy Tail fans are spoiled for choice in the RPG adaptation. Rogue Cheney, Kagura Mikazuchi, Sherria Blendy, Sting Eucliffe, Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuki Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Wendy Marvell, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, Gajeel Redfox, and Juvia Lockser are all playable characters in the world of Fiore. Mimicking Gust’s Atelier series, the story arcs of Fairy Tail will be divided into chapters, and these chapters will be episodic experiences.

Regarding the narrative, the prologue begins with the Hades battle of the Tenrou Island arc and then, after a time skip, resumes with the Grand Magic Games arc. Players will rebuild the Guild in taking on quests and battling enemies for experience. These encounters will take place on a grid wherein the player and their party will use strategical magical attacks to ensure victory.

March is a very busy time for Koei Tecmo, as it is releasing Nioh 2, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, and Fairy Tail within the window. In all fairness, these titles are all different experiences and appeal to different audiences. It is hoped that all three games enjoy equal success!

Fairy Tail comes out for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC on March 19, 2020. Watch the launch date reveal trailer below.
