Normally, the announcement of a new F1 game from Sony wouldn’t be all that exciting, but this year’s game has an interesting new feature. For the first time ever, PlayStation 2 and PSP owners will be able to compete against each other in online races. Sony’s Studio Liverpool has been working on both versions of the game, which are set to include a number of other new features.

Players will be able to unlock classic F1 cars, play as an engineer and easily tune their car, and the race experience has been improved thanks to a new pressure system, AI mistakes, race incidents and a new physics system.

F1 06 for the PlayStation 2 and PSP is due out in June.
