Exoprimal is an upcoming action game, and it features dinosaurs that rain from the sky.

Capcom is developing the game, and showed it off during Sony’s State of Play event.

Check out the reveal trailer below:

The description for the game reads, “A dinosaur outbreak will soon occur.” Sure enough, gameplay features dinosaurs that seem to burst into our reality at random.

In order to deal with this, the folks battling these hordes are equipped with energy riot shields and mech suits. This seems fair. Exoprimal is a five-player online action game, which will allow you to team up with friends, don exosuits, and battle dinosaurs.

According to a developer video, the game “offers a storyline in which the world’s mysteries gradually unravel as you play.” The director, Takuro Hiraoka, explains the premise, saying, “A dinosaur outbreak occurs and hordes of dinosaurs suddenly appear across the globe.” As set ups go, it doesn’t get much better than that.

Strangely enough, Exoprimal isn’t anything to do with Dino Crisis, Capcom’s erstwhile survival horror series. You may notice that the trailer features a red-haired woman who bears a resemblance to that series’ heroine, Regina. But it seems like something of a spiritual nod.

Exoprimal is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC in 2023.
