Konami has announced it’s delaying its intended ‘1.0.0’ update for troubled football offering eFootball 2022.

The company had originally scheduled the update for November. Instead, the update will now arrive no earlier than Spring 2022. Furthermore, the company has declared it will cancel the eFootball 2022 Premium Player Pack. Konami will automatically refund anyone who has already purchased the pack. Specifically, the pack offered players a bunch of premium tier items and currency that would only become usable after the intended update.

eFootball 2022‘s 1.0.0 update was to add a bunch of game modes, including Online Leagues. Meanwhile, Konami itself even called the first release back in September “basically a demo” before the game had even launched. Bugs and glitches have plagued the game in its early state, leaving fans very unhappy with the free-to-play offering.

An apology for the delay has been offered by the game’s official Twitter account. “We are working as hard as possible to deliver an experience that our players expect and deserve by Spring 2022”.  Finally, Konami has said that it is to also delay the mobile version of the game until Spring 2022.

The silver lining is that the bug-fixing side of the postponed 0.9.1 patch for eFootball 2022 has been released today. You can check out patch notes for that over here.
