EA has announced a new release window for upcoming golf game EA Sports PGA Tour, with the title now set for Spring 2023.

The game was first announced this time last year, given a vague release window of Spring 2022. However, back in November of last year, EA confirmed the game was delayed for an indefinite amount of time. Now they’re calling a Mulligan, as the game will take another year to be ready for the fairways.

On the positive side, the game will include The Players Championship and the FedExCup Playoffs. In the game’s Career Mode, they’ll earn points that will accumulate over the year. Then, the top golfers are given the opportunity to win the FedEx Cup. Career Mode will also see the return of the Korn Ferry Tour too. All in, players will have plenty of chances to hone their skills before they join the prestigious PGA Tour.

EA’s return to the golf simulation scene will also take a cue (or a club?) from its other sports games to use real world sports data. Using ShotLink and TrackMan Data, the professional golfers stats in-game and in the real world will match up. These stats will be continually updated over the next year during development, making sure by the time the game lands everyone should be up to date.

Hopefully then, we’ll be seeing EA Sports PGA Tour in Spring 2023 for next generation consoles. Presumably, that’s Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, with the caveat they’ve not been 100% confirmed just yet.
