EA has officially confirmed it’s working on an Iron Man game with Marvel Entertainment at its EA Motive studio in Montreal.
The announcement revealed that the game will be a single player third person action adventure, with an “original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man.”

Of course, you’ll also be playing as Tony Stark too, specifically “channelling the complexity, charisma and creative genius” of the man behind the suit.
However, it’s not clear yet if that means you’ll be getting out of the famous armour between missions, for example.
There’s no word on platforms, or a release date just yet – as the game is still in the early pre-production phase. We do have some quotes however.
Vice President of Marvel Games Bill Roseman has nothing but praise for Motive Studio – who are currently working on the Dead Space Remake set to launch this January.
“Their experience delivering both established entertainment worlds and thrilling gameplay — combined with their authentic passion for the armored icon — will fuel our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.”
Meanwhile, the game’s executive producer will be Oliver Proulx, who’s worked on other Marvel titles such as last year’s Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
“We have a great opportunity to create a new and unique story that we can call our own,” he said. “Marvel is encouraging us to create something fresh. We have a lot of freedom, which is so engaging for the team.”
Intriguingly, an interview with GamesIndustry.biz after the announcement give us another juicy titbit of information. Namely that “this won’t be the only game to come from EA and Marvel”.
It’s previously been claimed that EA and Marvel are also working on an open world Black Panther game – though there’s been no confirmation of that rumour in today’s reveal.
Obviously, we’ll be getting more updates on this Iron Man game as development progresses. It was previously rumoured that EA were working on an Iron Man game just last month.
