EA has announced that its EA Access service will be available on the PlayStation 4 from this July.

The service has already been on Xbox and PC as Origin Access for some time, but has remained absent from Sony consoles until now. For a monthly fee (around $5 a month or $30 a year if the current Xbox price is to go by), customers can access a growing library of EA games including its biggest franchises like FIFAs, The Sims and Need for Speed. In addition, EA Access members often get extended trials of new EA games ahead of their release, with the most recent example being Anthem back in Feburary.

It's somewhat of a turnaround for Sony, who back in 2014 claimed that EA Access 'doesn't represent good value for the PlayStation gamer.' How times change.

There's no exact date outside of that July window for the launch of EA Access on PlayStation 4, but if you're interested you can sign up for an alert exactly when it goes live on the EA Access website.
