Bethesda and id Software have launched Doom Eternal‘s latest 6.66 update with a host of new features including Horde Mode.

As detailed last week, the new Horde Mode puts our favourite Doom Slayer against the hordes of Hell in a high-score challenge. Survive the waves of demons, slay them as fast as you can and complete bonus rounds to rack up points. Do well, and you can boast of your prowess on the leaderboards and unlock seven new skins.

The Battlemode also gets upgraded to 2.0 in this update. A new Ranking system for the mode rewards players who keep wins up in streaks. There’s also a new map entitled Stronghold to challenge you, and even a new playable demon in the Dread Knight. There’s also new seasonal leaderboards alongside new unlocks to earn in this mode too.

Finally, the update adds two new Master Levels to the game. Players who think they’ve defeated all the forces of Hell have to offer can step up to the challenge in Mars Core and The World Spear. However, bear in mind you’ll need The Ancient Gods – Part Two DLC to play the latter map.

Check out the trailer for the new features below. Update 6.66 is available to download now for Doom Eternal on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
