Blizzard has announced the upcoming availability of a three-day Diablo 4 ‘Server Slam’ on May 12-14 that will allow players to experience the game again before its release. According to the developers, this pre-release period is being made available in order to test their servers and in-game features ahead of launch to make sure everything is running smoothly.

If you’re as excited as we are for the chance to experience the ARPG entry again, then you’re in luck because we’re here to give you all the details you need to know ahead of the Diablo 4 Server Slam’s launch. So without wasting any more of your time, let’s get right into it.

Diablo 4 Server Slam start time and release date

The Diablo 4 Server Slam will begin on May 12 at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST / 5 PM GMT and will end on May 14 at the same time. As mentioned before, the developers have decided to make this period a possibility in order to test the functionality of both the game’s servers and its in-game features.

Game director Joe Shely has noted that they’ve set the Server Slam max level cap at level 20 so if you plan on participating, you’ll only be able to reach this particular rank. However, all five classes will be playable during this time, meaning you’ll essentially have the chance to try out each one if you weren’t able to do so in the Open Beta Early Access period.

The game’s first region, Fractured Peaks, will also be the only accessible area this time around as this is where most of the prologue and first act of Diablo 4 takes place. The developers have noted, though, that this will be another chance for you to earn the Beta Wolf Pack reward from the Early Access period if you haven’t been able to do so previously.

But aside from the returning features that were previously present in the Open Beta phase, Blizzard has also stated that Ashava, the world boss, will also be making more frequent appearances during this time. You’ll be able to engage them in combat immediately once the Server Slam starts, however, the developers have warned against doing so early on since beating them is incredibly difficult.

Diablo 4 server slam rewards

These are the following rewards you’ll be able to earn by completing certain milestones during the server slam phase:

  • Cry of Ashava Mount Trophy – earned by defeating Ashava with one level 20 character
  • Initial Casualty Title – earned by reaching Kyovashad with one character.
  • Early Voyager Title – earned by reaching level 20 with one character.
  • Beta Wolf Pack Cosmetic Item – earned by reaching level 20 with one character.
