Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred is a mixed bag of an expansion, adding a brand-new class and a host of content. However, the expansion’s new Spiritborn class is set to receive massive nerfs as it launched in a busted state.

Diablo 4 Spiritborn nerfs

With many fans claiming the new expansion feels more like a season update than a proper release, the new Spiritborn class has been a win for Diablo 4. Unfortunately,  its current form, the Spiritborn class is completely breaking the game, turning the title into more Vampire Survivors than Diablo.

Diablo’s global director of community, Adam Fletcher, took to Twitter to reveal that the new class will be hit with major nerfs in upcoming patches and hotfixes. Specifically, the class’ Evade cast animations will be fixed.

“We also looked at the Spiritborn’s Evade cast animations that some are employing in specific builds,” Fletcher told fans. “This is a bug as the Spiritborn is able to break animation frames during Evade immediately. We will be fixing this so you won’t be able to Evade instantly during another one, and instead it will be normalized to the standard Evade cast rate in all situations.”

A very quick fix

Blizzard’s planned fix for the Spiritborn class is coming as soon as possible. While more nerfs could be on the way, the first major fixes for the class will arrive in a week in the 2.0.3 update.

“We have mentioned before that if a build ends up impacting the experience of others, we may make changes immediately, and this is one of those instances,” Fletcher explained. “We expect this change to come in 2.0.3 later this week.”
