Following the tremendous wave of community backlash that Diablo 4 Season 1 brought about, the game’s developers have promised that they won’t be releasing a patch like it in the future as part of their recently conducted Campfire Chat.

Associate director of community management Adam Fletcher specifically stated during the live stream that they “don’t plan on doing a patch like this ever again” due to the negative feedback that they received from numerous disgruntled players. Of course, the development team also provided evidence as to how exactly they plan on committing to this assurance as they gave the fan base a sneak peek at what to expect in both the short- and long-term.

One of the changes that’s apparently set to arrive sooner rather than later is the introduction a few much-needed buffs to the underpowered Sorceress, which, according to associate game director Joe Piepiora, will be arriving in patch 1.1.1. Now, even though the team didn’t exactly provide a specific date as to when it’s set to arrive, they have stated that it’ll be coming in the next few weeks as they will apparently be holding another developer live stream on July 28th.

In addition to the Sorceress improvements, game director Joe Shely has also stated that they’ll be adding another stash tab to the game in an effort to improve its dire inventory situation. This will be added alongside the Sorceress buffs in patch 1.1.1 so you should have an easier time organizing all of your Diablo 4 gems and Malignant Hearts soon enough. Shely also revealed that Elixir stack size is being brought up to 99, which means you managing your backpack’s Consumables category should be less of a hassle.

It’s also worth noting that there will be an even bigger change made to gems as part of Season 2 that will make the ever-present resource into a material instead, thereby freeing even more inventory space for your character. With all these changes set to arrive soon and the development team’s promise not to release a patch like Season 1 ever again, things are seemingly starting to take a turn for the better for Diablo 4 and its community.
