The arrival of Diablo 4 means players are now busy scouring Sanctuary for every piece of valuable loot they can find and store in their inventory. Unfortunately, the backpack space that Blizzard gives you often isn’t enough to stash the items that you get from slaying demons.

Of course, learning how to salvage gear in Diablo 4 is obviously one way that you can easily take care of any unwanted items. But with the game’s map size being as massive as it is, you’ll most likely be spending your time outside of a town so you won’t always have the luxury of having a blacksmith nearby. You also can’t simply teleport to Kyovashad each time just to use your personalized stash as there will inevitably be times where you won’t be given access to the bustling central hub.

Because of this ongoing dilemma, a user named AndrewWOz has taken it upon themselves to create a Reddit post asking the developers for the introduction of a gem pouch. This would naturally free up several slots in a player’s pack since gem frequently occupy space that could otherwise be used for picking up other valuable items.

Additionally, since the gems you pick up can’t initially be equipped, they just end up sitting in your inventory for long periods of time until you get the chance to deposit them at the chest in Kyovashad. Dropping them from your backpack is also out of the question since these valuable materials are often hard to come by and their usefulness also outweighs the minor inventory-related inconvenience they bring.

A majority of the players commenting under AndrewWOz’s thread predictably agreed with their sentiment as Diablo 4 players everywhere are undoubtedly struggling with inventory management. However, there are a few hardcore players that are seemingly against the idea of changing the backpack situation as they want things to remain the same.

It remains to be seen what Blizzard will decide to do with this issue as the game is still only in its early access period. But, as fellow members of the perpetually full inventory club, we hope that the developers do end up introducing it at some point in the future.
