The Diablo 4 preload is now live on all platforms, which means you should now be able to install it into your system if you bought any version of the game early. PlayStation, Xbox, and PC users should all be able to head into their respective platform’s Diablo 4 page to download the game, however, you may have to clear up some storage space beforehand.

Even though there are only five character classes available to choose from upon the game’s launch, the preload will still take up 84.40 GB of storage space on PC while the console version’s file size will most likely remain in the same range. Now, although this isn’t the biggest game we’ve seen in terms of its file size, this should still take up a chunk of your hard drive/SSD that you otherwise may not have.

Once you’ve finished downloading it, you’ll only have to wait a little more until you can drop into Sanctuary with your preferred starting class to battle the demon armies of Lilith. If you preorder either the Deluxe or Ultimate Editions of Diablo 4, then you will have an advantage over those that didn’t since you will be given an additional four days of early access. Those that purchased the Standard Edition will have to wait until June 6 to play the game.

It’s important to keep in mind, though, that the preload does not currently contain the rumored day one patch yet. According to associate game director Joseph Piepiora, this will be released on June 2 once the early access period starts so we suggest deleting a few smaller games that you no longer play as the update will likely come in and take up around 6-10 GB.

While you wait for the long-awaited day of reckoning, however, we recommend checking out our guides on how to get a mount and how to switch weapons in Diablo 4 so you can have an even easier time defeating Lilith and her minions.
