If you’ve played Diablo 4 you’ve likely run across a few Strongholds during your playthrough. In fact, it would be virtually impossible to miss them and you’d be doing yourself a disservice by avoiding them. Despite the huge appeal of Strongholds in Diablo 4, players are still looking for a little more variety when it comes to tackling them.
Diablo 4’s Strongholds have been an overall positive for the community with one player saying, “Strongholds, are the best content in the game”. However, players are now hoping that the feature will receive some much-needed variety. Taking to the Diablo 4 Reddit, User TheCruelHand suggested that, “Strongholds should reset each week with different modifiers or bosses”. They noted that Strongholds were a super fun way for levelling up with some “pretty cool boss fights”. However, they suggested that it would be a great idea “to see them reset each week with modifiers like dungeons and maybe have some of the bosses from the campaign be used”.
Alongside this, players were also quick to approve of another idea put forward by user Kyriolex. They suggested, “Optional nightmare strongholds instead of nightmare dungeon and at the end is a greater radiant chest instead of glyph upgrades. Turns one stronghold into nightmare mode when activated”.
However, another player wasn’t exactly sold on the idea saying, “I don’t think they should reset, but should have like a ‘defend the stronghold’ type thing. ‘An army of hell marches toward your stronghold’ and have to destroy them. If you fail or don’t complete in the given time limit, you lose the stronghold and it reverts to being unclaimed or not finished. And then find a way to put on modifiers and stuff.”
Ultimately, players are in complete agreement that adding more variety to the way Strongholds work in Diablo 4 would be a huge improvement to an already beloved feature.
