Diablo 4 can be a tough game. Especially when you’re playing on Hardcore mode, where if you die once your entire character is unplayable. Up until this point, the worst thing you had to deal with on Hardcore mode was the world itself but it now seems like some players are purposely going out of their way to trick Hardcore players into joining the PvP zone.

Taking to the Diablo 4 Reddit, user Clear-Document-5598 noted they received a group invite from a level 100 player while playing their Hardcore Necromancer build on World Tier 3. After this, they received a message from the player saying, “tp to me, chest and boss here.” Obviously, after checking, it appeared this player was in the game’s PvP zone and was looking to lure the Hardcore player into a possible character-ending scenario. While the user noted they didn’t think many Hardcore players would fall for this it just shows how far some players will go to grief Hardcore players.

Diablo 4 fans have taken to mocking this form of deception comparing it to spam emails that almost always appear to be completely false from the get-go. One player said, “Wait til you hear about the Kehjistani Prince trying to move their hoard of Uniques and needs your help.” This comment was followed by another player, now relieved that “the messages about my extended horse warranty stopped.” Other players have noted other scams from players with one user noting, “The people offering to gild your rune armor for free are lying too.”

This isn’t MMO players’ first rodeo though as many have pointed to Runescape as the original breeding ground for mass deception. However, user Mylilneedle believes, “A whole new generation of MMO players about to learn the hard way.” This is probably true but maybe that’s a rite of passage all MMO players have to make at some point.

In other Diablo 4 news, Diablo 4 players want to bring hell’s fury on road barriers and Diablo 4 players are “sick and tired” of finding incompetent dungeon NPCs.
