The current state of the Xbox One graphics drivers has been labelled “horrible” and is said to be hurting the platform, reports Edge.

In a wider piece about the performance difference between the PS4 and Xbox One, anonymous developers told Edge that both platform holders continue to work on their graphics drivers, but it’s the Xbox One which is in need of most work.

Microsoft is said to have “been late on their drivers and that has been hurting them,” revealed one source. Another labelled the Xbox One graphics drivers “horrible”.

The article adds that drivers are expected to improve right up to and even beyond the console launches, which should see the performance gap narrow, if only by a small degree.

Xbox One launches November 22, with the PS4 just one week behind on November 29.
