Destiny 2’s second major expansion will launch on May 8 and kicks off Season 3 of the shared-world shooter, Bungie has announced.

Warmind will be fully detailed in a stream on April 24, although Bungie has promised Guardians can expect to brush shoulders with a bunch of new characters and battle against new foes. So, your standard Destiny 2 shenanigans then. That’s okay with us though, as to be honest it’s about time we had something meaty to tuck into; Curse of Osiris is around four months old, after all.

Elsewhere, the former Halo developer confirmed that Season 3 will apply various new Crucible tweaks, including implementing all of the new maps for Warmind into matchmaking. Furthermore, update 1.2.0 will feature an increase in vault space, private matches, Heroic Strike modifiers, while summer will mark the launch of a new seasonal event, PC clan chat, and Bounties.

Intriguingly, Bungie also offered a brief glimpse at Season 4 of Destiny 2, which is scheduled to kick off in September. While the studio is keeping many details close to its chest, it did confirm that extras such as gear collections and records will be part of the package. More info will be revealed at a later date.

Presumably the third expansion mentioned by Activision earlier this year will form part of Season 4, although there are currently no details available on the DLC. If you’re still plugging away at Destiny 2, it’s probably worth checking out details on the latest weekly reset to see what’s happening.
