As part of Bungie’s latest ‘This Week in Destiny’ blog post, the developers have revealed that Destiny 2 Season 22 will include “the long-awaited PvP nerf to Le Monarque.” The void combat bow has long been a thorn in many Guardians’ sides so this should undoubtedly please many within the community as we will soon be seeing a notable shift in the Crucible meta.
But aside from a significant update to the best meta PvP weapons, this isn’t the only revelation that was included in Bungie’s latest statement as they’ve also announced that they’re adding “a buff to Touch of Malice, a couple of minor changes to other Exotics, and some tweaks to Legendary perks (such as Bipod, Shoot to Loot, and Under-Over.)” The developers have also noted that Season 23 is already in full production, meaning that it’s close to being completed and we may get to learn more about it soon.
But even more notable than these weapon changes is the fact that the developers are apparently “entering early production” for The Final Shape. Now, this statement from Bungie may be easily misunderstood since this seems to imply that they haven’t begun work on it yet until now. Fortunately, they’ve since gone on to clarify through a Twitter post that “the weapons portion is specifically only talking about weapons tuning.”
During the initial release of the latest TWID blog post, a large number of fans had initially become disappointed upon learning that The Final Shape was only now entering its early production phase. But, now that we know this statement only concerns the game’s weapons and their tuning, there won’t be any need to worry about the quality of the next expansion for now.
As for the long-awaited weapon updates, the developers haven’t revealed when Destiny 2 Season 22 is going to be released just yet so we’ll have to continue dealing with the overpowered Le Monarque combat bow until the nerf gets here.
