EA Motive has announced its next livestream for the Dead Space remake will take place on Thursday and will focus on the game’s art design.
It’ll be the latest in an ongoing series of behind-the-scenes look at the horror remake’s progress. The team in Montreal have been keeping a very open dialogue with fans throughout the development process. Previous glimpses of the game have offered fans insight into skin peeling tech and sound design. Following the latter, EA Motive showcased some of the changes they’d made to weapon sounds based on feedback from fans.
That being said, this art stream could be the biggest test of the project so far. In our review of the original 2008 game, Wesley Yin Poole had plenty of praise for the visuals. “Some of the lighting is the best I’ve ever seen in a video game. Light will bounce off walls, cast ominous shadows and flicker when you least want it to. While aliens creeping about vents and flashing across the screen will occupy most of your eyeballs’ attention, there are moments of graphical brilliance where you can’t help but stop, pan the camera and absorb.”
