Cory Barlog, creative director of Santa Monica Studio, has said that God of War Ragnarök will still release in 2022.

Recently, there has been much speculation over whether Sony will delay the much-anticipated game. Or whether it will be out this November.

Barlog, responding to someone on Twitter, said that the game is not delayed.

“Why won’t you all just go on and tell us that ragnarok is delayed so that we can move on and plan the rest of the year seriously this is getting frustrating,” someone said.

To which Barlog replied, simply, “because its [sic] not.”

This isn’t the first time that Barlog has addressed concerns from over-excited fans, either. Back in April, he urged people to remain patient:

“We haven’t said a lot about this, that’s because everybody is heads down, hard at work. We are perfectionists. There is so much going on right now that I just wish that we could share it with you. But it’s just not ready to be shown.

“But I guarantee you the moment, the very second that we have something that we’re ready to share, we’re going to share it with you. Because we don’t want to hold any of this back. So please hold tight, know that something cool is coming, and that we, everybody here at Santa Monica, is so incredibly thankful for all the support that you’ve given us.”

God of War Ragnarök is out on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in 2022—unless someone at Sony says otherwise.
