The Call of Duty 4: Black Ops Blackout beta will launch for PC and Xbox One owners on September 14, Activision and Treyarch have announced.

While PlayStation 4 owners are able to get a taste of the battle royale mode before anyone else, it's still good to see that PC and Xbox One players don't have to wait all that long. Just four days, as it turns out.

Note that PC gamers will need to have pre-ordered the upcoming military shooter if you want access to the beta on September 14. Otherwise, you'll have to wait an extra day.

Not much is known about Blackout right now, although it has been rumoured that it will accommodate 60 players. There's always this 13-second teaser to pick apart if you like, though.

Treyarch last week outlined a number of changes that it will be implementing to the final version of the game following Black Ops 4's recent multiplayer beta.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is pencilled in for an October 12 release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
