The latest entry in the Call of Duty series is all any Call of Duty fan can speculate on at the moment but given the recent resurgence in classic Call of Duty multiplayer servers fans have been sharing their love and nostalgia for the original Modern Warfare 3.

Following the recent revival of classic Call of Duty games fans have taken to the Call of Duty Reddit to share their nostalgia for the 2011 release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. One fan noted that while the Modern Warfare 3 maps were “slightly less creative” they definitely had “much less bulls**t” in comparison to the original Modern Warfare 2. Alongside this, a lot of love was pointed in the direction of the game’s Survival mode which one player described as “simply great”.

Another player noted their love for the third entry in the Modern Warfare series saying, “It was my favorite multiplayer. I was definitely the best at the MW3 and played the most. I had like 60,000 kills by the time I stopped playing”. Other players said that even if they had bad internet they had fond memories of going to friends houses to play against each other. One fan said, “I loved it, even living in a rural area with bad internet. Therefore, I honed my skills at home then went to friend’s houses to get online a bit. The 360 was such a golden generation of gaming.”

All of this nostalgia comes after users online claimed to have seen screens purportedly from testing for this year’s game, though these have since been removed from Twitter due to a DMCA claim. This has made it impossible to confirm their validity at this time.

In other Call of Duty news, Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2 servers are back online, so you can play the best COD games again and Call of Duty to remain on PlayStation as agreement with Microsoft is made
