While players are on the fence about Modern Warfare 2’s latest season of content, this leak, from a surprising source, might actually entice players to keep with the franchise as the next game in the series edges closer to release.

According to a number of reports including Charlie Intel, Federal Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley, who has been overseeing the recent FTC vs Microsoft case, revealed during the case that the next Call of Duty entry is set to launch in November. While the release date of the game had been rumoured it was not yet public knowledge and even led to the Call of Duty Twitter account making comment on the leak.

While there was no confirmation of what the title of the upcoming entry would be called, Insider Gaming previously reported in May that the next entry in the series would be called Modern Warfare 3. Jason Schreier also reported that the game is set to be developed by Sledgehammer Games. According to a number of reports from Insider Gaming, there are a number of key dates for the upcoming game that have already been leaked. They include:

  • Beta weekend 1 (PS4/PS5) – October 6, 2023 – October 10, 2023
  • Beta weekend 2 (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – October 12, 2023 – October 16, 2023
  • Campaign Early Access ((PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – November 2, 2023
  • Full Release (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – November 10, 2023

While there’s still no official confirmation on the date of release of the next game in the series it seems pretty obvious what players can expect. What will be interesting for returning players at the end of 2023 to see will be if there is any Zombies mode attached to the rumoured Modern Warfare 3, as the mode was notably absent from Modern Warfare 2.
