In a surprising announcement to its Diablo 4 player base, Blizzard has now revealed that players participating in the Open Beta are set to experience “unprecedented” traffic and long queue times throughout its duration.

The unwelcome statement was included in a recent blog post wherein a Diablo 4 community manager outlined what users could expect during the pre-release phase. According to their official message, this is apparently an intentional part of the Open Beta as “stressing” their systems will help them in preparation for the game’s launch. They go on to note that they expect player traffic to be at its heaviest on Friday, which is when it becomes accessible once again.
The D4 community manager would then mention that there may be times when the game will be taken offline temporarily “to deploy infrastructure adjustments or fixes.” This point in particular may disappoint numerous users as the Open Beta only lasts for three days, which means this will surely cut down into their playthroughs even more.
During this time, the development team will also apparently be monitoring the Blizzard forums in an effort to track encountered bugs and player feedback. This will allow them to make the gameplay experience smoother for all parties involved once the game is eventually released.

With that said, the Diablo 4 Open Beta is seemingly going to be filled with a ton of issues and errors that will surely frustrate most of those participating. The insane traffic and notoriously long queues, which made up some of the main complaints from the Early Access phase, are also apparently making a return much to the chagrin of the player base. Hopefully though, all of the bugs and problems that are being experienced now will no longer be an issue upon Diablo 4’s launch.
