Since the dungeon crawling franchise is often known as a multiplayer title, you may be wondering if you’ll be able to play through it solo. Not to worry, because we’re here to answer this exact question for you. Read on to find out what we know about the game’s single-player mode availability.
Is there a Diablo 4 solo mode?
Solo players will be happy to know that Diablo 4 will indeed be playable without the need to be in a party. However, console users will still need to be subscribed to either PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold to play the game as it will not have offline functionality available.
Keep in mind, though, that there is actually no single-player mode in the game and you will still be placed in a world filled with other users even if you are playing by yourself. Diablo 4 is perpetually online so you also won’t be able to play it without an internet connection.

It’s also worth noting that local multiplayer will similarly require a subscription to your system’s online service. Fortunately, PC players were able to escape this fate as they will only need to purchase the base game to join up with other players.
The Diablo franchise has always allowed fans to play through their entire campaign solo and that isn’t changing with the fourth installment. It’s worth noting, though, that some of the world bosses found throughout Sanctuary may not be easy to handle alone so you’d probably need to party up with others at some point.
