Nintendo has released a demo for upcoming storybook spinoff: Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon ahead of the game’s full launch next week.
The demo features the first two chapters of the prequel, which follows young Cereza before she became the witch fans know and love from the main series.

Better yet, the demo also allows players to transfer their progress into the main game – letting them resume their adventure right where they left off should they pick up the full thing.

The spinoff comes just five months removed from the release of Bayonetta 3, and was announced during The Game Awards this past December.
In fact, a playable teaser was cheekily added to Bayonetta 3 in an update to that game to prepare fans for this spin-off.
It’s a very different prospect to the main series however, with the action taking place in almost a storybook setting, with a hand painted art style.
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon release date
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is set to release exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on March 17, 2023.
The game sees you playing as a younger Cereza, accompanied by Cheshire, a demon that’s possessed one of the young witch’s toys and accompanies her on her journey.
Together, you’ll use Cereza’s witchcraft, and Cheshire’s brute strength, to fight baddies, solve puzzles and try and make your way through a magical forest.
