Update: Nintendo has released a new trailer for Bayonetta 3, and has announced that the game’s release date is October 28th, 2022.

Check out the new trailer below:

The description reads:

“The witch is back! Summon, slash and slay in style when Bayonetta 3 launches on Nintendo Switch October 28th!”

Original Story:

The Entertainment Software Rating Board appears to have certified Bayonetta 3, which may mean that a release isn’t far off.

As spotted by Twitter user The_Marmolade (via VGC), the ESRB has classified the game as “M,” for Mature. The product page lists the ESRB’s descriptors for blood and gore, partial nudity, violence (naturally), strong language, and in-game purchases. None of which is particularly surprising.

Meanwhile, Pan European Game Information (PEGI) has rated the game an “18.” This is always a treat, because it means we get to hear the PEGI voice fellow saying “PEGI eighteen,” in a detectably more stern tone.

We have known that Bayonetta 3 was in the works for some time now. Last January, Hideki Kamiya said that people should forget about the game. That way, when information did come out about it, it would be a nice surprise. A commendable approach, I thought.

In September last year, we got a new trailer for the game, and a launch window. It was just “2022.” Hopefully, we’ll hear more soon.
