Awesome Baldur’s Gate 3 mod makes Dark Urge players suffer in combat as well

A new Baldur’s Gate 3 mod now adds real consequence for Dark Urge players, making the RPG’s Bhaalspawn origin suffer from their bloodthirsty rage in the heat of battle. While Dark Urge players are used to horrific scenes within the game’s dialogue, this mod brings those chilling effects over to other areas of gameplay.

Thanks to this mod, Dark Urge players will now deal with a wealth of different consequences after scoring a kill meaning you’ll have to deal with some potentially game-changing side effects. If you want a different mod for your Durge run, there’s also one that gives the tormented character a newfound sense of humour.

The Dark Urge can go mad

The “Dark Urge has urges in combat” mod arrives in Baldur’s Gate 3 shortly after a mod that returns cut content into Larian’s hugely popular RPG. Created by user FrancisFordCoppola, sadly not the filmmaker behind Megalopolis, you can experience the additional urges by downloading the mod here from Nexus.

When installed, the mod will allow Dark Urge players to earn an additional action that doesn’t stack with an Elixier of Bloodlust. The player will also have to fight the possibility of going mad over the course of the five turns if they don’t continue inflicting harm on others.

This violent spree also includes turns that are taken outside of combat, meaning you could go on an uncontrollable rampage. You’ll have to take extra care when moving around near NPCs or else you may find yourself becoming the butcher of the Sword Coast.

If you go mad after a particularly bloody fights that depletes your health, it could even bring your story to a premature end making madness management a key element of enhancing the Dark Urge’s tendencies even more.

How to install the mod

Installing the additional layer to the Dark Urge urges is a straightforward process. With the mod being available on the Nexus platform, you can add it using the Vortex Mod Manager or your preferred mod manager. Alternatively, you can whack the file directly into your mods folder within the Baldur’s Gate 3 installation file.
