With the Baldur’s Gate 3 early access period and subsequent Panel from Hell showcase having given fans a healthy serving of all the features and goodies they can expect in-game, some players are now begging developer Larian Studios for a 72-hour character creator-only head start so they can immediately start playing the game once it officially drops.
One such player is a Redditor named VeritasLuxMea who created a post saying: “Please let me make characters and then save them in the character creator so that we can actually play the game on launch day instead of spending our first 8 hours of gameplay going [crazy] in the character creator.” Predictably enough, most of the comments below the thread agreed with the previous statements as ChornaKalyna said: “How foolish of you to assume that 72 hours will be enough to finish character creation!”
Of course, with so many avatar customization choices available, one of which is The Dark Urge origin story, it’s only natural that hardcore players want to spend as much time as possible perfecting their starting character for their very first playthrough. This is further evidenced by Listening_Heads’ response wherein they noted: “As someone who never puts much effort into character creation, I think this time it’s warranted. The wild colors on the Dragonborn [race] were very interesting.”
Unfortunately, with the Baldur’s Gate 3 release date for PC having already been moved up a month earlier, a 72-hour head start – even one that’s only for the character creator – may not be feasible for beloved developer Larian Studios. But since the community is already set to get the game earlier than expected, the absence of a pre-release phase will surely be forgiven once the open world epic drops.
