Back 4 Blood may not be playable for another couple of weeks, but that’s apparently no reason we shouldn’t have a good launch trailer.

The trailer was shown during the Xbox presentation at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Full of guns, gore and zombies Ridden, the footage gives us a taste of what we can expect from the co-op shooter once it arrives. The trailer opens on four of our heroes in an alley, likely intentionally evoking that infamous first Witch encounter from Left 4 Dead before the pace very rapidly picks up.

The homage is welcome of course, as Left 4 Dead was also created by this game’s studio Turtle Rock. Consider this a spiritual follow up then, with plenty of undead monstrosities to mow down. To catch you up, major changes include the addition of a card-based system linked to weapons, abilities and more. Hopefully, these cards will make every game feel different, and provide plenty of challenge and longevity. That’s on top of the AI Director, making their return.

Our Josh has had some hands on time with the game last month, and you can read—and watch—his impressions so far just over here. We’ll all get to find out how the final game stacks up on October 12. That’s when Back 4 Blood lands on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. It’ll also be available on Day One through Xbox Game Pass.
