Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin's Creed III will boast a heap of gameplay and visual improvements in its remastered form on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

For starters, Connor's epic American Revolution adventure will feature 4K and HDR support for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, complemented by high resolution textures, a new lighting rendering system, and other spruced up visual effects.

That's not all, either. We're also promised improvements to gameplay mechanics, with 'several features being revamped or tweaked.' No word on what these actually are, but given that Assassin's Creed III was a bit messy in places, it's too good to hear nonetheless.

Character models have also been improved and the game now benefits from denser crowds, environments, and VFX. Nice.

Assassin's Creed III Remastered is due out in March 2019 as part of Assassin's Creed Odyssey's Season Pass. The original version came out in 2012 for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.

Its director recently admitted that he would change a number of elements in the game, notably the lengthy prologue sequence.
