A new Apex Legends UI feature has been tossed around by the community. There are a finite amount of things a gamer can see on their own screen while playing the game. This is pretty much true of every game. Inventory, the map, and so many other things are not readily available on the main screen and require a look elsewhere. One Apex player tossed around the idea of adding a little bit to the main user interface and it got the community discussing.

Gaming community argues about theorized Apex Legends UI feature

The Apex Legends UI has plenty on it, but one user would like to see something else while they’re in the game: the amount of items they have. It can be shown to people viewing the game, but it’s not inherently there for the person actually playing. They would then immediately know how many throwables they have, and that can be extremely valuable.

Reddit user leeganz shared the image and pondered why it couldn’t become part of the main screen. The community had some interesting takes on this matter, with some feeling that it would be a vital quality of life update. Others believe it would be too much to handle on the main screen and thus be a distraction.

u/GhostFK123 attempted to find the common ground and said, “I would settle for when you are in someone’s death box and hover over an item (ammo, batts, etc.) for it to tell you how many you already have.” u/MasterDante123 said that spectators get it better, “They’re more cool, hence the cooler ui.”

Another user by the name of u/forestofold said, “So much clutter, but I guess some people might like it as a quality of life update. Hopefully if that ever happens I can turn it off.” u/Elixirial disagreed, “It should literally be a togglable option so I dont have to open my wheel to check.”

u/MitchDRos is not a fan of this idea, “They should also add an overlay of their socials, website, news, friend’s list, bullets fired, successful headshots, bullet missed, number of revives, number of knocks, distance traveled, number of pinged enemies, number of ability used, number of steps, number of jumps and many more.” u/WarriorC4JC said, “No too much clutter and opening your inventory is really easy.”

A lot of gamers think that this would distract and add to the visual clutter that the user interface already brings. Others disagree, saying it would save them valuable time when they wouldn’t have to check the inventory before looting things. It remains to be seen how EA feels about it, but it might not even happen.
