Respawn and EA have announced that battle royale shooter Apex Legends will get a new Apex Chronicles event, with the first live from tomorrow.

Apex Chronicles are said to be “bite-sized story events that inject narrative into the world of Apex via gameplay challenges and experiences”. First up is an event starring Bloodhound entitled Old Ways, New Dawn. It sees the character trying to save an injured prowler and facing the mistakes of their past.

To take part, you’ll have to be playing a non-ranked BR mode and you must be playing on World’s Edge. All challenges are unique to Bloodhound and their abilities specifically. In addition, each Bloodhound player will be assigned a unique route, so you shouldn’t crossover with anyone else. In addition, the quest has checkpoints, so don’t worry if you can’t finish it in a single game as you’ll be able to return later.

Progressing through the Chronicle will net you Battle Pass Stars as you finish individual chapters. Finish the whole thing, and three Bloodhound-themed Apex packs are yours for the taking. Presumably, the other legends will get their own Chronicle events in due course. We’ll have to wait and see for more.

The first Apex Legends Chronicle Old Ways, New Dawn will be live in the game today, September 29. Apex Legends is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Earlier this year, EA made the game’s ping system free for all developers to use.
